CRASH & BURN

Crash and burn

The candour of your poisonous sores

Begrudge the hazard do I carry for you

Tolerant in the lack of understanding

For your sullied greenery and verdure

The burden on my back I shoulder

Like bricks of cobblestone

Left on the pavement

On the boulevard

“THE TORMENT IN TROUBLED WATERS FADED LIKE LOST SUNSETS”

Crimson and milestone

Mend me a pathway

To fancy your displeasing

To want the torture you embellish

More than white picket fences

Puncture my wounds

Pierce my tongue with the solicitude of butterflies

To aspire the treacherous coveting

The torment in troubled waters

Faded like lost sunsets

Erupted out of the belly of umbrage

Unredeemed the layers of skin unfolded

Soggy and wet

Thick and waterlogged

The bandages that sheathed

The pain and misery

To journey with you

To the stars and back

On the beaten path

That we trespass like adulterers

Along the worldly thoroughfare

On the car ride home

Made of chariots and alabaster

Made of angels of armour

And white wings
