Crossroads
And when I leave this place
Here I go
Onward through to the meadowy lands
Come forth
I cannot stay
The recurring repetition
Of monotonous creeping
And humdrum
I lay my hands
Upon the calling
Running out of time
New beginnings I could not speak
But could hear the whispering
Like a bandit
It invaded my impeccable reputation
For innocent keeping
I anticipate the changes in my stride
The mold did not settle in places I could not reach
All too familiar
And I am falling
Into an unsinkable ship
From where I’ve once been
Came with it
All that was waking with the sails
To drown me in the abyss
Unanchored by the drifting
The meander stood still
Nowhere to hide the aching displeasure
Of review and reckoning
Running with the wolves
The warrior cages
My friendly adversary
Watch me bleed with bittersweet flight
And return me to a safe landing place
Thank you for the memories
To remind me of the crossroads
Of familiar acquaintance
And nearby hollows
Beyond the horizon
To befall the betide
Come with what may
These unsafe harbours
I should not return
